Candidate should belong to one of the following caste categories:
- General

Candidate's primary state of residence should be one of the following:
- Himachal Pradesh
- Candidate should have cleared his/her last exam securing a minimum of 60%.
- Candidate's annual family income should be no more than 36000.

Candidate should not have been awarded any scholarship for the current year.

Candidate should be attending an institution accredited by one of the following councils/boards:
- All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

Candidate should be enrolled in one of the following levels of education:
- Undergraduate
- Postgraduate
- Doctorate

Candidate should be enrolled for a Technical course.

Candidate or his/her parent(s) should be employed by any of the following employers:
- Himachal Pradesh Government
